Saturday, November 24th is a wonderful day in the world of small business. It's a day that everyone supports people in their local communities. Whether it be visiting a local coffee shop, doing some of your Christmas shopping with local merchants or eating at a local restaurant, doing business small keeps our economy alive and well.

"every dollar spent at an independent retailer returns 3 times more money to the local economy than shopping at a chain." That is insane!! And totally makes checking out some of the local small businesses worth it. Here in the Tri-Cities we have so many amazing small businesses making up our community. The best part is that when we shop with them, we are helping our friends, the owners, accomplish their dreams.
Not only does it feel good to buy someone a gift, but it feels even better to know in buying it that you helped someone else have a better Christmas. Small Business Saturday is awesome!
We here at The Salt Oasis Kingsport will be having a lot of specials and even a special guest to celebrate! Our friend Katie Shupe of "Katie Bakes Cakes" is going to be joining us and bringing with her some delicious goodies to sample, buy and to order for your holiday festivities. She will be set up in our salt gallery from 1 pm until about 4 or 5 pm to give out samples and meet you!
